April's first Beerwah summit

So I have been wanting to do this climb for over 4 years ..Although fit enough ...things that kept stopping me from climbing  was seeing people getting helicoptered off regularly and even though some climbing friends said I'd do it easy..I was concerned mainly about coming down and getting stuck. So after Donna and I scrambled up Cooroora she said I'd be fine which gave me the confidence to go ahead and do it.

As we approached Beerwah I was feeling really excited which was great at my age. We went to the wall for a look before taking the goat track and I said 'I can do that easy' so up we went.. Few spots were interesting,  I love the

technical side of climbing ..thinking your way thru is fun and challenging at

times.

At the end of the organ pipes I couldn’t find a way up onto a rock, if it wasn't for Donna I think I would have turned around. After this spot it was easy. When we came down I had another go at that spot it and I did it! Not easy as I'm only 162cm but now I had full confidence in my ability to climb Beerwah solo.

The feeling at the top was just fantastic and the obligatory photo...and  in an SOS shirt was a must. I was absolutely pumped all day feeling very pleased with my accomplishment. So glad a group such as SOS has people that are happy to help u up and down such climbs. Cannot wait to do it again
